    Got codes read! Fault P0131. O2 Sensor Circuit Low Volts.

    Bought a cheap U480 reader off ebay, seems brill so far!

    Its come back with the code P0131, O2 Sensor Circuit Low Volts (Bank1Sensor1).

    Any ideas what this could actually mean Lol?

    Cool.

    I find being able to read car error codes a must. Have had vag com for years and find it really usefull. Now have BMW and Volvo in the household so need a way to read them now.

    A fellow member borrowed my spare o2 sensors i will get them back just incase you want to swap them over,

    I couldnt appreciate that enough if such was possible!! Im tempted to drive to the car spares shop local and change it in the rain, but would be gutted if its not whats at fault!

    will check in my autodata book for you on that code, pretty safe bet its the lamba sensor but not sure if its the pre cat or after cat one without looking in the book or on auto data . what year of car is it, model and engine size please?
    because it just had to be done

    p0131heated oxygen sensor (o2s)
    bank 1 low voltage,
    possible causes......
    exhaust leak,wiring short to earth,h02s,ecm

    I assumed it was the front one as its bank 1 sensor 1?

    Its a Volvo C70 1998 T5 GT Thanks matey.

    Whats h02s and ecm?

    my mistake if this code means heated o2 sensor then isn't that the EGR valve ? not lamba sensor.
    because it just had to be done

    most likely is the sensor.
    but check the wiring as it lays close to the manifold,if its burnt through somewhere it will short out & cause a fault light,

    Ive assumed it was Exhaust lambda, didnt know the volvo had EGR? Oops! >.<

    I had a look underneath in the rain, got it on stands but got a bit fed up lol. Couldnt see deffective wiring, and it doesnt come on as soon as the light is removed, takes a few miles of driving, so im guessing its giving readings out of a bracket or something rather than going straight to ground.
