Tinted Windows

I am thinking of tinting the back three windows of my V70 estate to keep some of the glare off the dogs has anybody got any recommendations of where to go in the west midlands as ive got no idea being new to cars, also what are peoples thoughts on this i dont want it to look too unusual.

I enquired a few months back at G & T Tints on Dudley Road Halesowen, (Bottom of Mucklows Hill and right at the island, just on right where dual carriageway bit ends).

Their work looked good as they had a few vehicles in when I was there.

For sides and rear on my 850 estate they quoted £240 cash. This was 25% on front and rear door glasses 35% for load area.

It was a few months back when I was in and I haven't driven past in some time. Hope they are still there. Likely that the mobile number will still be working if they have moved.

Just been down , £100 for the back window and the two sides have to just check the bank balance now.

Thats a good price mate, i saw and spoke to the owner of an S Type last week who confirmed they are still in business, his looked superb. They really do take pride down there

Had all my side and rear windows tinted, mine have been graduated from front to rear ( 35% at front decreasing to 17% on rear window) i have added a couple of pics in my vb garage, so you may wanna look at that.

Anyway i had mine done at AG Tints, unit2, bristol road south, rednal, birmingham 0121 457 7883

Gotta say they did a superb job on it, especially when you come to fine detailing around window top edges, you wouldn't be able to tell they had been done with film at all.

It did cost me £200 but i ithink it was money well spent

all my windows on my saloon cost me £150 as a favour from my mate,so if your down this way it might be cheaper for you!!!

Ripper and Mikey thanks a lot, your cars look great mine will definitely have to be done now.Going to go for G&T Tints in Halesowen as they are on my doorstep and having been down and had a look at some of their work it looks very good.Might have to wait until next month now though as money is a bit tight at the moment.
Martinr did you get your windows done in the end if so got any pics?

The nicest tint i saw was on Mark Salvo's C70 it it has clearish tint at the top graduating down into darker very very nice.

The original reason I looked into it was for security.

When I bought the car it had no load cover. I rectified this at Salvo and didn't get the windows done.

However, with the hot weather and a black car with broken aircon I wish I had!!

Might still do it.

Had mine done a few months ago ( at a place in Bristol ). Cost £250 for all windows ( fronts have 15% I think....very little ) and rears are 30%.

Only regret is I wish I'd gone darker....was worried it would be too dark inside, but the backs are as clear almost as the fronts from inside.

I think they look good.....go for it!

If you go ahead with the tint, dont forget to inform your insurers, with some insurers it is seen as a mod. My sons insurers questioned his tinted widows following a claim, it was touch and go weather they payed out. They did after many letters.

Have already spoken to my insurers and they dont have a problem with it as long as its done by a specialist and not in the passenger windows,front windows or windscreen.

got mine done by a place in Nuneaton (no idea what they're called but can get info if anyone is interested) cost me £300 but it really is a top notch job
