    In the market for a C70 T5.

    Hi Guys,

Last week, I had a little incident in my V40 T4 which resulted in it being written off. On the plus side I now get to go car hunting!

I am in the market for either another Phase 2 V40 T4, or a C70 GT T5 coupe. I have about £2,500 to spend for the right car.

Does anyone know of a good car in the North Kent area? I am in Medway and can travel a reasonable distance, but not to Scotland!

I also need to have a look in the boot, to scope out the size of it. Is there anyone local with one of these fine C70s that would be willing to show me around?

Any advice in what to look out for will be gratefully appreciated.

    Regards,

    Alex.

    & merry xmas

I guess given the price it has to be an older coupe? or you after a rag top?

I can do photo's of the boot of the coupe?

Would happily show you mine - perhaps there will be time to have a mini meeting in the Berkshire area - I would be looking to see if we could get together with my old mates Storm Troll & the Viking?

Not too sure about the new folding top one Dave, I just sold my 06 C70 T5 because I was sick of the electrical problems, a failed roof control unit and abs control unit set me back the thick end of £1500.

    Hi Dave,

Yes it is the coupe I'm interested in.
Photos of the boot would be great! Would it be possible to measure the boot too? I might need to regularly get a box in the boot that is a little on the long side...

i will tell you from experience that the volume is not a problem. The apeture is the main issue. I will measure it for you.

once over the lip loading stuff is usually fine. You cannot fold down the back seats. There is a ski shoot. I have put very large stuff inside - including step ladders. Roll down the back of the passenger seat - you can with the long doors - get most stuff in. I would advise buying a set of waterproof seat covers.

Here is one I found. Late year - bit long on the miles but still has nice features...

I've been having a good look around autotrader/ebay/forums and have seen both of those good looking motor. Unfortunately, Bradford is a little too far to go for a car!

Drop me an e-mail or pm through here or ebay and we can talk some more. I am only 40 minutes from Bluewater, so not to far from you.

    Cheers.

Sorry bit late but as promised - shots of the boot. The lip has a 6 inch drop into the main boot well. Under the carpet there is more room but most of this is taken up with the spare, though at a pinch you can put stuff in and around the spare, particularly with it being in most cases, a space saver. I measured the aperture at the level of the bumper - 75 cm approx. It is 1 metre approx at the widest point at the top. Top to bottom it measures about 45 cm. You loose a little where the rear shelf speakers intrude down a little from the top.

    Apologies about all the dirt.

Thanks for the measurements Dave, as long as get my box in the hole it should fit in the boot.

I did get a chance to look in the boot of Turkish's car, just before it became MY car!! Nice, smooth and comfy on the way home, now just looking forward to exploring her.

    I'll take some pics soon...

Thanks for all the help and suggestions.
