    Question Confused!!!

Found this and I'm rather confused, I thought the 850 R replaced the T5R and I thought the T5R only came in 2 colours, yellow and balck. I also never knew any Volvo had rear wheel steering, I thought that was a Honda thing???? Delta system can anyone clarify???

yeh its an 850R, & yes both the T-5R & R were available in Olive green

the Delta system in what Volvo names the cross linked rear axle, by design it does give a little rear wheel steering on hard cornering but is purely mechanical unlike the more complicated Jap systems with motors

It just goes to show that you do learn something new everyday. I'm in the process of trying to buy an R off another fellow member and never knew anything of the Delta system. Always wanted a Yellow and a Black T5R in my garage as an investment, I think it might be a squeeze to get a green one in there as well!!!

the Delta system is the rear axle used on all 850's. BT is very controllable when the back slides out & comes back into line very easily, must be one of the benefits of the system

Volvo press release, page 8 mentions it breifly

That explains why they handle like they are on rails then. Must be a very reliable system as I've never heard of any problems regarding it.

Nice looking car. Could be interested myself, although a few more miles on it than i wanted, but if its had an engine rebuild it should be fine? Although, the brakes look a bit small, or is that just the wheels, and 300bhp from just a remap? Is that poss? Sorry but not that up on the 850's and always a bit sceptical about power claims from just a remap. Anyone know this car?

As someone has quite rightly said,,,,A re-map does not give a T5 300bhp. They are very capable of such output but req's internal modification first.

Although i'm suppposed to be looking for something a bit newer (s60t5), i do have a soft spot for the older s70s, 850s. Theyre just so much more distinctive than the newer shape cars, a lot more road presence. I know, i do keep using that sig, but i like it
