    Big Front Calipers ????

Hi my brakes on my T5 soon need replacing.

As the disks and pads front and rear are about shot.

I have fitted braided brake lines and changed the brake fluid.

Has anyone fitted Hi spec calipers on the front or something similar.

Im running the standard 16in t5 wheels and dont intend to change them.

Its running about 270bhp and its a saloon if that makes a difference.

Im pretty hard on my brakes as i dont hang about lol.

if you want to keep the original 16's then i don't think there is anything you can do, even the later 302's brakes off a S/V/C70 won't fit under the Columba's let alone an aftermarket brake kit

The calipers are the same on the 280mm (which you have) and the 302mm. Its a bigger surface area that makes the brakes better, not the caliper size that much.

Porsche calipers are another favourite fitment, but that all include bigger discs.

Have you tried or using uprated pads?

Ferodo DS2500 pads, yeah, they are popular, I can't comment, as I've never tried them.

As for discs, a new set of branded discs is always a good thing I think in time though, you will end up with bigger brake setup, as the 280mm isn't really the best

Does that mean that t5R discs will fit using all the standard parts on the t5?

    Sorry for the slight hi-jack
    If in doubt, FLAT OUT!

Yes, all you need are some 302mm caliper carriers, a pair of longer brakes hoses ( V70R) and the discs, its a bolt on swap. But, they will not in under the standard T5 alloys

If they are secured to the strut then they will be tight if they are not secured then you can get away without buying new hoses,
