Hi,
Dave is refering to our price for the older T5's (850 etc).
With the later cars like this one you must also change the tensioner which adds another £42 to the bill. Bringing our price upto £159.99 all inc. This includes OEM Parts, Labour, and VAT.
Trust this helps.

Hamish.

Aftermarket parts often have lifetime warranty for manufacturing defects which beats the ballcocks out of the manufacturer's 12 mths/12K! You must also differentiate between Patern (a copy of the original) and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) (which is identical to the Volvo part just not supplied in a Volvo box before making judjements on the quality of all aftermarket components. Besides the manufacturers don't always use the best quality components for example look at the Pirelli Tyres that most Volvos seem to leave the factory on.

Hamish.

Cheers Cam - but it says and i quote " major service including cambelt and tensioner replacement can be as little as £350 plus VAT " so not £160 or it is a £160 ???? ( confusion )
It says thats the prices for later cars
If Hamish has given you a quote of £159 then thats what it'll be
Coincidentally i was going to go to Hamish for the same thing but the garage ive started at done it for the same money so saved me a big fuel bill

Surely replacing the tensioner is standard practice on any car, no matter what the age? After all if either fail the end result is always the same. Infact, that goes for anything touching the timing belt inc tensioner, idler, waterpump.
It would be like replacing a worn clutch and not bothering with the slave cylinder (unless you have a dual mass flywheel assembly).
