    Unhappy putting a double din into c70 pain

    Just got a double din unit for Christmas and was wondering do i have to hack away at the dash to get it in because i dont really want to do that just ask if you need pictures

    sorry seen your other post it looks like you should be able to take that one out and fit your new one in place of it you might need cage if not already got one

    al get some pictures tomorrow and upload them tomorrow its just to little bits of plastic that look like runners for the original cd player that are in my way and was thinking have other people just smashed it of av bin to halfords and they were about as much use a chocolate fire poker

    You can remove them by using a hack-saw blade, minus the saw.

    But the adaptor is a better idea if you want to keep the stereo & sell the car at a later date.

    My pioneer double din just slotted in didn't need to modify anything.

    It depends on the head unit I think, some units have additional brackets that attach to the sides.

    Did the one you've fitted fit top to bottom, or was there a cage?

    Mine used a cage which slipped in without touching the sides and then the unit screwed into the cage.
