sorry to read about your crash. glad everyone is okay.

it may look bad but if the chassis is straight and all the suspension then no reason why it could not be repaired if done properly. just another option for you. or has the rear pillar gone also? hard to tell from pics.

volvo's are strong yes but they do crumple but the passenger cell is the strongest part.
because it just had to be done

    As per others.

Shame. I also remember it from the Leeds RR day and it was a lovely colour.
Still- I think that is a better way for it to go than just slowly rotting. It has served its purpose, given you fun and saved your skin when it was needed.

Glad to hear you and your family are ok. Thats the most important thing. Truly gutting to see her in that state though. Salvage the bits and either rebuild or sell on.

Hi, Thanks to everyone for your comments. I took some more pics yesterday and its worse than I first thought, although it still starts first time and drives which for the state its in is quite impressive, i guess i was lucky the damage is mainly at the back as all the expensive stuff is in the front.

    I think i've made a 850 COMPACT

No wonder the steering was a bit twitchy on the way home

The new slash cut exhaust, after i dragged it 7 miles back home.

I'm going to have a good think over Christmas about what to do with it, theres a couple of cars on ebay that are cheap and would make good donor cars so who knows, i might have one again soon.

Blimey, thats a rough break. My brother in law had an episode with his v70 at the weekend but managed to come away only needing a door and a wing, not everyone is so lucky eh?

Glad to hear you're ok though and hope you find another volvo soon.

I think you can get a sticker that says, MY LAST VOLVO SAVED MY LIFE from somewhere. One reason we own them. Hope you aren't too bruised - can be very painful that sort of 'injury free' accident - I remember this after my Scirocco was side swiped by a p!ss-head in a Daimler Sovereign.

Sorry to read about your misfortune, but glad you're ok.

I think thats you in my sig pic!

Nobody wants to crash, but I guess if you have to then crashing in a Volvo is one of the better options.

Sorry to see that, its never nice to lose a car you have invested mucho time in, however it is just metal and you all walked away, I know those words feel kinda hollow when you look at your twisted baby, but after having been in an accident where people got hurt you soon appreiciate that cars really are just big lumps of metal that have no value beyond a few pound notes, people on the other hand..... well what price good health ?

Glad you all got out basically unhurt, from what looks like quite a big accident. Dont bother repairing it, it will never feel the same. Get a new one and put your good bits on it.

    Good luck....

Thanks again for the nice comments, thats what i like about this community. I'm still undicided about what to do with here, she's pretty much unrepairable as the whole side is creased and the front has been pushed across a couple of inches so i'm going to get it stripped and then weight the body in for scrap, the only straight panel is the drivers door, then i'll see which way i'm going to go with whats left.

Yes i did drive it home, steering was a bit out and the back tyre was flat but my dad followed me and i didn't go over 20 mph, still for the damage it has i was supprised it still went.

Anyway as is Christmas Eve, I hope santa brings you all lots of presents and don't eat too much tomorrow.

MERRY CHRISTMAS from Me and Jo to everyone on here.
