The gain on my controller was set right down to zero - so this explains why the torque was lower than expected. I put a new powerflex lower torque mount on the transmission. I also noticed that the inner CV on the short half shaft had decided to empty all the grease onto the subframe - which is less than ideal.

I think I'd like to keep the torque as low as you can, to much torque low down ruins gearboxes and drive shafts, I seem to remember I had a really flat torque curve and only 365lb ft, but 434bhp.

The pin hole in the inner CV boot is fixed. There was a minor oil weep from the oil return which I have tweaked today.

However I am feeling a bit frustrated. One of the main issues was running too much boost in low gear which caused detonation and a loss of power at 5K rpm from a standing start.
I have managed to figure out how to program the boost map across the 4 available channels in the Blitz SBC i-color. I was trying to set it so that it would stay lower until a certain speed is reached to prevent the knock back I was experiencing from a standing start. So I set channel 1 to run 1.4 bar and channel 2 as 1.6 bar above 40 mph. Each section is about 12.5 mph. I tested each channel individually and the boost it makes is pretty spot on. So then I set the whole thing up to run under the MAP mode & it just doesn't do what it promised. Both channels in map mode only make about 1.1 bar, in stark contrast to what they do when individually selected. This is really annoying because as far as I can tell the only difference is the mode that the SBC is running in.

I don't really understand why the ignition timing gets pulled back so much around 5K and why this boost cut/fuel cut occurs above a certain pressure. Is this just the nature of the P80 beast or is this more about the mapping.

You can see the map mode in this video - https://youtu.be/HOM5SIDuGeY?t=128

Replaced the oil return seal again, as the other one was clearly still weeping a bit. Tightened to 20Nm - which is 8Nm more than the book value. I am toying with the idea of an aftermarket ECU, because I can't figure out how to get the best of the current set-up.

I was thinking the same Dave, some kind of aftermarket ECU as mine just cannot cope with the all the changes, especially the injectors, just cannot get it to fuel right.

DM'ed Shem on WhatsApp about what he'd recommend. He said the MaxxECU Race Premium, with open ended harness. Not wishing to appear stupid but I guess an open ended harness is just the wires? Dunno not sure.

My main worry is what will happen to all the functions you take for granted, such as turn indicators, clocks etc, once the ECU is replaced.

If this was just a purely a track car/ no MOT then I wouldn't be that bothered. But it isn't.

Anyway I am waiting on a house sale before committing any additional funds to this project.

Yeah I'd guess open ended is just wires as you can get some harnesses that are pre terminated for specific vehicle plugs/sockets.

The lights and other functions will be controlled by the CEM and you'd just be replacing the ECM though there would probably need to be some CAN communication for the dash instruments like RPM, engine temp, etc.

Good news bad news. Last week I change the oil (10w 60 fully synth - the expensive stuff). Not driven that far since 2021 (maybe 1500 miles) - https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk...ation=V706+KGJ and passed the MOT. I went for a couple of runs and pulling onto the driveway saw a long line of oil. Dumped all 5L somewhere along the way. I noticed the oil temps go up to 114 and backed off/ coasted home. Oil pressure was still OK. I think the engine is OK. Some had got onto the aux belt and subsequently sprayed it everywhere. Initially I thought it was the PAS fluid, but that's green.

I just hope I haven't done any long term damage. I hate entropy. I am wondering if the stock breather system, which is relatively new is up to the task?

Isolated the leak to the inlet cam oil seal. FRF are sending one and I'll get it in over the weekend.

Leak looks fixed. Managed to do the fix without locking up the cams. I also reworked the BBK so hopefully it wont squeal as much. Weather has been a bit damp, so not had chance to test it yet.

Tested and seems fine. No leaks. Brakes still squeal like a stuck pig. Can't find any metal shims online - what material should I use?
