I quite like the look of the C30, but the T5's seem to be quite rare. Stick with the C70 mate, you've come this far, would be a shame to throw it all in now.

It's finally moving slowly. I went to see my engine builder today. They've finished balancing the new crank. They've measured, balanced and fettled the conrods and wiseco pistons. Apparently there was quite a lot of difference in the pistons which has now been corrected. I did take a photo but it didn't come out - bit rushed and out of focus.

They can start building up the bottom end next week and work can start on the cylinder head - porting, polish and gas flow - 3 angle valve seats etc.

I've got the new flywheel back to return to Kalmar.

Great that it's moving on mate, just annoying (for you) that it takes so long, but these things can't be rushed.

I am hoping all the engineering work can be finished in the next 2 weeks. Block should be re-assembled wih the head on - end of this year?
I've set no particular timescale. I'll be happy enough if the car is up and running by end of January.

Most of the delays were down to getting the flywheel ordered only then to decide against it - which is a tad irritating.
