There have been many ups and downs since taking the C70 over to HLM for them to shake it down. The radiator gave out, so I had to get a new one. A few loose jubilees on the water circuit, plus I didnt quite tighten up the oil filter housing causing a minor oil slick on the workroom floor.

I think I found the final oil leak today - missing bolt from the cam cover - but with a fair wind I think we are getting there. Glad to have the car back home now, though I still get the feeling the ECU is still trying to fathom out WTF happened over the last 6 months - a few codes appeared today along with an intermittant rough idle.

    P0140 - 02 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 1 )
    P0014 - B Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Advanced or System Performance Bank 1

I replaced the VVT unit with a brand new one, when we put the cambelt on - and she decided to have an allergic reaction, throwing http://www.obd-codes.com/p0014 but it didn't persist for very long - cleared itself - so I am not 100% sure what that meant. Going to keep a close eye on that - perhaps the solenoid itself it suspect?

If it continues to appear I will have to see if Colin will lend me the cam lock tools so I can double check the timing.

I am off to see Graeme for final finsihing on the 3 inch cat back this Saturday - first proper long run out. Just hope everything stays in one piece.

Still feel a little edgy towards it. I still need to install the electronics for reading the oil pressure & temp. Its always the little pieces e.g. copper washers or some random auxiliary system that gives me the grief.

Don't get me wrong, getting it back is a major achievement & I was very happy last night, but I have this nagging doubt it's all going to blow up in a minute.

Yep, I know that feeling only too well, you will gradually forget about every little sound the more you use it.

Perfectly Mate. Enjoying having the roof down with this good weather. Just about to buy some 19" black alloys then the Heico Exhaust goes on.

Coolant temp is bang on 90 degrees. HLM pressurised it to 1.5bar and left it for an hour - with no losses. I am pretty confident I have that bit covered.

last oil leak seems ok. Levels on my 80 mile round trip to see friends in Brum was uneventful though the P0014 code keeps re-occuring. I have ordered a new VVT solenoid. Should be with me by Monday.
