Early on when Betsy had her original engine - which showed more promise than the one that replaced it - it ran 250bhp out the box with no mods. Sadly it popped just after fitting the 19T.

Talked to my engine builder on Friday - Bottom end is finished and the sump is back on. Head is nearly finished. I should have the engine back by the end of Jan. It is dragging a bit, due to resourcing issues. Hope to be back on the road in Feb.

You'll be ready in time though, as it's 5 months away or so. Are you on those 19's of mine yet?

Rang my engine builder today for a brief chat/ update today. Great news is that the head is finished (though I forgot to ask if it has been bolted on). Skimmed, ported, polished & gas flowed - all new valves & 3 angle seat job.

Compression has been lowered - 7.93 to 1

My engine builder put his best cam profile SME to look at my cams & decided that it wasn't worth doing. I've talked this over with Hamish and I am happy with that.

Anyway I am trying to keep calm, but it looks like we're nearly there. Hope to go down mid week to bring the bits and the rocker cover tool & get the engine timed up/ finished off.

Good news Dave, I'm looking forward to seeing it back at it's best, even if it means getting thrashed again.
