Question changing block from 2.5 to T5?

Would very much like to upgrade the block in my 855 awd lpt. there has been a oil leak down the back of the sump for a while, an im hoping its turbo return seal, and not lower sump gasket. any ways gonna be fitting a 16t and me7 manifold soon, so have a look then. i have a new clutch waiting to be fitted as mine judder's a little, but hasnt given up the ghost yet. but still with 16t prob should get clutch sorted, and if it's a take engine out job, could i replace block with t5 engine?, or is there a complete different wiring loom and major hassle involved?

Should be the same engine, at least the main block is anyway, all the other stuff is ancillary really, and you unclip the wiring loom from the engine and it stays in the car, should have all the same sensors (M4.4 has a few extra sensors, but they're not on the engine)

The sensors aren't on the engine they're elsewhere in the engine bay, so no problems there. The best thing to do is get a V70 T5 engine, with the ecu, as these are a M4.4 too (unless you#'re getting it custom mapped) so it should drop straight in

personallly i'd still with the 2.5 lump & stick the ME7 manifold & 16t onto that, you've got the extra cc over a T-5 engine then, the engine i'm building up is going to be a 2.5. I have heard they have got a weaker head gasket but not sure how much of a problem it is

running a 16t i don't think the slightly weaker block is going to be a problem
