    clutch worries

my s40 diesel has developed a nasty rattle when its ticking over and im led to believe its the duel mass flywheel.then the day after i seem to be getting clutch slip on my t5.it only seems to be in 4th and 5th when i floor it but if i stop put it in 5th with the handbrake on it stalls.how much roughly for a new clutch fitted on a 850 t5?

Not to frighten you but I bought an R clutch off Rufe for about £250, fitting was close to £400 (And that was the garage doing me a favour).

Although you say s40 diesel, would I be correct in my assumption that you have the 1.9 Renault based diesel, if so fitting will probably be a fair bit easier then on an 850 T5. If the dual mass has gone my recommendation would be to bin it, they are nowt but trouble and a lot of f=aftermarket clutch suppliers will suplly a 4 piece clutch kit that comes with a standard flywheel. Stick to a decent make (QH, Valeo something like that) and you should be fine. I'm running a QH clutch kit in my 850, with Rica doing 25k a year and 2 years later it's still going fine.

The R clutch will fit the sandard T5, it's just basicaly an uprated clutch (stronger springs and better friction material).
