Is there a way to disable these? My drivers side one doesn't park itself so I end up with it pointing in the air and the car looking like it has a raised eyebrow.

Suppose you could remove the entire assembly
Not sure where that leaves you come M.O.T time though.
Find the fuse.

The plug for the headlight conectors is easily found when you lift the bonnet up.
Mine were just to the left of the passenger side headlight. Disconnect here and wrap up the connectors to keep them healthy.
You can also remove the fuse.
Cheers chaps. Well I pulled the fuse at dinnertime today and it solved the problem....... but the windscreen wipers wouldn't work so they must be on the same fuse.
Going to have to hunt for the connectors tomorrow
the connectors for these in just in front of the rad behind in the middle of the car, I've had to unplug mine too!
