    Question pics of aux gauge set up ..

    hi ,, im wondering if anybody has any pics of there aux gauge set up ?
    im waiting for some gauge,s to arrive , boost ,oil pressure, water temp, and exhaust temp , im planning on fitting them in a single din pod above my stereo , and the boost in a pillar pod , im also considering putting them in the dash vents ,, i was wondering if anybody else had done this , and wot it turned out like ..

    i made my own A-pillar pod using a universal Race-X pod, they have a large blanked area for the side profile so you can trim them to the exact shape of the pillar trim. It did glare with bright sunlight tho


    i made this one using a DIN blanking plate from Halfrauds, i fitted my starter into it as well

    I did this as i hate the look of lots of gauges all over the dash after all you cannot watch them all and drive safely i have all i need to know and see here including gear number :

    . im currently in the process of fitting some aux gauge,s in my 850 ..
    can anybody tell me if i have 40mm water pipes or 35mm , im looking to fit an inline sensor housing , also is there any probs with using an oil filter sandwich plate to house my oil temp sensor ? . also if anybody kno,s of the wire i can splice into to power the lights in the gauge,s , (in the dash somewhere behind my stereo ) preferably still alowing the for the dim function to work ?

    not sure about the water pipe size, but sure i have seen someone use a sandwich plate for the oil before. I would just be wary of how far down the filter sits once its fitted

    the dimmer wire is pink

    the gauge lights up but the needle dosent move ..

    red is normally a perminant positive, or even an ignition positive might do depending if has an internal memory or not

    im running the lights off of the stereo live wich is switched . i touched the unknown wire to that and it made no diference ..
    volvo,s sold now...

    .. here are some pics of the progress so far . i have decided to make a coolant temp housing myself , and am awaiting a sandwich plate for the oil pressure side of it ,, altho im not sure sender unit will have enough room , maybe ile have to make up a piece of braided pipe or something , and mount the sender elswhere >>>








    this is just a test fit @ tho moment , im gonna paint the surround and bezle,s matt black .. ile let you kno how i get on tomorrow .. cheers

    iv got 3 guages sittin in a pillar pod here,havnt had chance to fit them yet tho...been sat there for a few weeks now lol.
