Right, I'm gonna get layered up and out to get this thing sorted.
I didnt get any misting from mine at first, but the carpet was well soggy. Suppose it depends on where the leak is in the matrix. Could be a split hose to it.

Rad, ALL hoses for splits. Yours could be leaking onto something hot and evaporating. My mates BM had an airlock in his radiator, causing it to back pressure out of the top (the overflow pipe) but only when it got hot!

    PIA or what!

OK, new tank fited and I started her up and left her running with the tank lid off. There was nothing for about 10 minutes, then there was some gurgling and the tank level dropped right down.

I left it running some more, then I took it for a drive round the block. No leaks or steam from the tank now, so fingers crossed it has worked. The old tank needed replacing anyway, it was brown and crappy.

Glad you seem to have got it sorted bomb.

While we're on the subject, how long does everyone's car take to warm up?, mine seems to take forever. I can drive 20 miles on the motorway and it will still be only just into the red, I'm pretty sure the thermostat is sticking but being as the bolts holding the cover on are seized it's going to have to wait until I can get a new housing.

Id go with about 2 - 3 miles, usually still in city traffic so a lot of stop start, probably more time sat still than actually moving

    Then it sits just under " 3 O'clock "

Mine takes about 3 to 4 mins, which is about 3/4 of a mile (mostly side streets and traffic queues)

Checked it again tonigh, and everything seems to be ok, the was a little amount of water under the cap rim, but it was clear, so I think it was overspill from when I was filling it. I think it needs a little more bleeding though.

It looks good too, nice shiny new clean tank and nice deep blue coolant mix

Daft thing is I've had a thermostat sat in the garage for about 6 months, just can't get the damn bolts off and I don't want to force them as I don't fancy snapping them.

Have ya tried a long bar, like a torque wrench??? Dont know what the NM's are for it, but mine where VERY stiff. I thought i was gonna snap mine, but I warmed the car up first, WD40'd them, and off they went with a CRACK!

Bit of a b*tch if they snap though
    Thankyou, Goodnight....much love
