Need help - Convertible Roof Vandalism...

Hi, wondered if anyone can help me.

Walked out on Saturday morning to get in my car, only to my horror to see that someone's slashed about a 6 inch gash in the side (just behind the passenger window) of my convertible roof fabric. Gutted.

I've just been quoted around £1800 to get a new roof from main dealers.

Just wondered if anyone knew of any detailers or upholsterers or any other method of fixing this problem, without the need for an entirely new roof ?

I'm thinking that there must be a need for this so it must be a service offered somewhere, but i'm coming up with blanks at the moment...

Oh no, that's terrible, fraid I can't offer any suggestions but I hope you manage to get it sorted out.

I have a complete roof in my shed, its a black one. I bought it for some spare parts and paid quite a bit for it. I dont need to actual fabric parts so make me a sensible offer. it came from a 2004 model and looks very good, just needs a clean.
