Fresh MOT but Oil Leak from Turbo

Got a new MOT on the car this morning, 1995 t5 Estate, however there was an advisory on on oil leak from Turbo, seems a common problem,my question is, is it a viable repair for home mechanic i,m faiirly handy with spanners, better still is there a how to guide, i know it does use oil,but all in all happy thats all there was, any help appreciated,Thanks.

hmmm i'd be interested in the vresults of this i've got a 95 t5 seems to be doin something similar, i thought it was just the filler cap seal leaking over back of engine but oh nooooooooooooooo could'nt be that simple

You sure its not comming from the oil retrun pipe that goes into the block,rubber gasket goes.
Couple of pounds from the main dealer.

dont think it's that on mine sadly but have bought new seals and will fit them anyway as you say just a few quid tis worth doing

I just changed both the top turbo return oil gasket & the bottom of the pipe has an orange 'O' ring, its a fairly simple job but a little fiddly to get the bolts back in, be brave & patient!! Parts to fix the return oil pipe from Volvo are under £3

Its working behind the block from underneath so you will need a decent place to work; flat, away from traffic, and a decent set of things to raise the car (or a pit).

I had mine done by an indy for £50odd.

Thanks for that dont look too bad a job ,just access, i,ve only got Axle Stands, So looks like rolling around in the Mud again!!

Do it anytime, most of the oil runs back down into the sump, so the pipe should be dry-ish.

I did mine on axle stands, and mine is the awd model so theres a bloody huge gearbox in the way, so I can't directly access the pipe, its a horrible job for me but should be straight forward for you guys.

ooh mine has a canny oil leak from behind the engine somewhere gonna have a look at this one weekend.. hopefully thats the problem, cheers guys
