feel free to swear at me as much as you want, i'm used to it now lol. Instead of smashing your windscreen how about swopping with BT's, you get your smashed windscreen & the good feeling you've done a good deed for the day? lol

i'm just glad you replied before someone else off here read it who didn't realise i was having a joke about auto's lol

I didn't think you'd want an auto's screen gracing BT mate lol

My T5 will make a good tow car every time the Chimaera breaks down, so there is at least one good use for an automatic lol

No worries bud, thought I'd offended you (which would have made my day lol) by going non-volvo!
Just gotta wait and find a decent one now; may go for a 5.0l instead, depends on the budget manager lol

sorry to disappoint you but i don't offend easily (a good thing really). On the numberous occassions i thought of replacing BT a TVR was on the short-list, along with Lotus Espirit (expensive & unreliable), Mazda RX7 (rotor-tip issue) & Toyota Supra twin turbo (too old & mainly autos)

they main a decent one? Even the local TVR specialist in Cov burnt down because of an electrical fault

Well if you did get offended easily we wouldn't be able to have these happy little chats about the merits of autos lol

Yeah, the Espirit is about as reliable as a Zil lol

Sounds about right mate! Friend of mine has had 2 Griffith 500s and they've been faultless (you can stand up now!). Regular servicing seems to keep the gremlins at bay- same with all cars though isn't it- sems to be more like luck with TVR IMO! It'll be a fun drive though (with a shot of NOS)

i do enjoy these little laughs/banters we have, just hope you realise its all for a laugh & i'm not that totally against auto's (i just think they should all be sent to French land to join you lol)

Yeah, the Espirit is about as reliable as a Zil lol
i always remember fifth gear buying one to do a 200mph challenge, one doctor owner low mileage, checked over by experts & still blew up the gearbox before they got it home lol

regular servicing, good job i didn't get one then lol. As they basically use the old Rover V8 won't the aftermarket twin turbo conversion fit? I tried to talk my mate with his V8 powered Dax kit car into finding the kit & fitting it lol

Bring em on mate- I need a good supply of autoboxes here lol

twin turbo conversion could be good...the rover V8 is only in the earlier models I think- TVR started producing their own version; have no idea if it's as reliable.
Quite tempted by the 350bhp speed 6. Makes a lovely sound, but apparently is a labour of love to keep it running well!
Early model for me I think- mainly down to cash available for said purchase!
Having to go this route as my French insurers are getting shirty (and costly) about the volvo mods so prob have to keep the TVR pretty much standard unless I trailer it only. Quite fancy driving it on the road too though

Sorry about the thread hijack Alan!

I'm not I'm not...honest! Thats why I've lost a quarter of a second on the quarter mile as a result of not power braking (lots of quarters in that sentence lol)

    I know mate, RWD+1050kg+torque+bhp+me = a reasonable ET for a change!
A bit of competition for the Shelby Mustang owners at Bitburg who are starting to pi$$ me off with their arrogance!

i thought that was because you tried it without the MBC, or did you lose another quarter of a second over..............................(you get the point, can't be bothered to type the rest lol)

big bhp, no weight & RWD would probably end up in the ditch if it was me lol. All you have to say to the Mustang boys "isn't that a F*rd?" & watch there faces drop lol

Yes leave the car alone, although if he does sell it, how is he going to "unsuperglue" those birds from the boot.
