Ive got 6000K HIDs in my standard V70 reflectors and have had no bother from other road users. I always make sure the beam is one up from the bottom on the dashboard adjuster and ill also add that they just passed an MOT too so the beam paatern cant be that bad. I also accept that they may not be entirely legal though the law isnt exactly clear on the matter but the old bill have never bothered me so that and passing the MOT plus how great they are means i wont be changing unless im forced too.

I also have had 6k HID's in mine and have never been " angry " flashed once.

Its also went through its mot as well and the beam pattern was spot on.

Ive also tried the nightbreakers and they are very good but still not as bright as my HID's.

Unless my motors are wound down then I have been flashed even thought the pattern is spot on.

I still better than the 100s of numpties out there who drive around with defective lights.

I even pointed out that tesco sold headlight bulbs to a hapless Pug owner - who's only reaction was "Yeah well I have already been told"

My internal reaction to this glib response was - WTF haven't you fixed it then!!!

Use Osram nightbreakers on the Dips - Main is well bright anyway so that's stock.

Maybe if people flash you it's because your lights are too bright ?! Don't wanna be a killjoy but if you're getting flashed loads it's obviously upsetting other drivers even if it's not faulty.

I have had a Wobbly moment - my C70 is indeed MY1999 and should take H7 for main and dip beam. However I forgot that I spent a fortune recently on MY2003 clear fronts and subsequently need HB3 instead for my main beam

So the H7 Night breakers are up for grabs...

HB3's arrived - Philips ones - still very yellow in comparison to the HID's.

Not sure what else I can try for main beam. HID? how will that work on flash? Don't think they will work well enough.

HID's work fine on main beam.
Have them on the bike and no probs as they flash when you first fire them anyway and 2nd flash they are then hot.

first off I am trialing some super bright LED 9005 (HB3). If that doesn't do the job then maybe I will fit another set of balasts. I wonder if it is possible to run 2 sets of HID bulbs in parallel off the same balast? After all the balast is just a transformer to ramp up the voltage.

I use HID full beam lights. 4300K ones on main & dipped, flashing them is no probs.

Best advice is that on my P2, the main beam lights & full beam lights are in seperate areas of the headlight units, so it must look obvious to other motorists.

It would be possible, but you would then have no way to switch off, or choose which light bulb to have on.

The power to the lights runs into the ballast then into the bulb, so there'd be no options for switching.

Bit the bullet and bought a set of HID 4300K HB3 which arrived today.

The LED ones may never get fitted now LOL. I feel a sale coming on.
