    ABS service

    pretty much says it all in the title...

    just seen the abs service required message pop up, any ideas whats involved in this jobs? get the feeling its an expensive job.

    IIRC, the ABS service light comes on if there's a problem with the ABS.

    Either a fuse may be blown, or one of the contacts on the ABS module will have "gone dry" which means the solder on the joint has fractured from excessive heating from the engine.

    There is a sticky in the technical section that covers this repair on the 850/s/v/c70 range as it's a common fault.

    The P2's are probably just as vunerable to it, but as they are newer, there's less cases of the issue.

    I'd check the fuses & carefuly look at the joints in the ABS module plug/socket.

    mine came up like tat when i was having problems with battery i charged battery up and now the is no abs service light just a thought
