    S60 D5 Glow plugs

    Hi

Could anyone advise as to when the plugs are due for replacement on this model and possibly recommend which plugs to buy? Car is just coming up to 60k.

    Thank you in advance.

    Darren

Mine's done just over 100k, and i dont think they've been replaced.

I think you only have to replace them if your having to turn over the car loads before it fires up, but i maybe wrong
    Thankyou, Goodnight....much love

    Basically 'Wot 'e sed!'

Glow plugs are not really a service item and unless they give you any problems or you have difficulty starting your car then leave well alone.

Have a gander at this thread and if you still want to change them then go right ahead!

Cost around £18 each ex vat.

Just FWIW always wait for your glow plug light to go out before cranking the engine, they last a lot longer that way.

This is a symptom of failing injectors.
