Whilst cleaning the oil from under the spark plug cover today (usual leaking oil cap seal) I took a plug out for a look and found NGK R...BKR 7EVX in there. Just wondering if they are respected or cheapo jobbys......Anyone using these?

NGK are good plugs, but i have had trouble with Denso plugs before, my GT4 melts Denso plugs in a few hundred miles at just over 1bar (very luckly without causing any engine damage). NGK plugs last for ages at the same settings where Denso plugs didnt.
I spoke to a tuner about this and he said he has seen this problem before with Denso plugs and doesnt like to rolling road any cars at his place unless its got a brand new set of NGK in it!!
I now have NGK Iridium +8 in the GT4, they are very good once engine is warm, but run a little rough when cold. In 850 T5 i use standard Volvo plugs with my Rica 280 no problems, the standard plugs stay like new, run without hesitation and last for ages.

Whoever put them in done you a favour mate, about the best you can get for the remapped engine, some will disagree but ive always been more than happy with them

Got them in mine Al, had no problems with them. I've also had the BKR7EIX (or whatever the iridium equivalent is) and they seemed to be better.
I've just bought some genuine Volvo ones from Rufe, so will have the chance to compare.

There's also a debate going on on the dutch forum about spark plugs.

Thanks for all your replies people. It's always been looked after very well as the inch thick folder proves. I've had it a year and a half so the plugs are at least that old. It's done 6k in that time and as you all know it's mapped with an MBC so they work for a living when required. Pleased to report that they look like new........
Bosch Super Plus FR7DC+ seem to work just fine on the boggo T5 - and they are at the low cost end of the spectrum too. Not looked at the R. Shame on me...

They look quite elderly mate.....and ££££ed actually. Very dark too,is your AFR as it should be?
Tried fancy plugs in my old E30 320i BMW, they were rubbish - went back to standard OEM standard ones and it ran a lot better. Seen this service kit on fleabay - doesn't look bad for the price. When it comes time for a service I'll be going for genuine Volvo stuff (or similar)
