    Thumbs up Europeantuning.nl

As I've finally managed to flog my house in UK (at a reduced price) I've got cash coming my way next summer...obviously got spend a good size chunk of it on the T5

Made an enquiry with europeantuning.nl last night (around 7pm) about their stage 4/5 kit and got a reply from Marc (the boss) within an hour; customer service or what?!
Their MTE custom mapping service seems to be pretty good as it also keeps the dreaded autobox-ecu in communication with the engine-ecu; so that the exctra torque drops at each shift for milliseconds to prevent transmission death! I don't think anyone else's maps do this; so for an auto user it's good news.

The kit's spec is as follows:

    MTE Performance custom-mapping
    Turbo 18T (ruil)
    Injectors 460cc (ruil)
    Aluminium intercooler
    HPI luchtfilterkit met K&N cone
    Ferrita 2,5" sportuitlaatsysteem (rvs)
Ferrita 3" downpipe met 100cpi racekatalysator (rvs)

    Volvo 850, S/V/C70 T5 332pk/480Nm

The hp and torque numbers don't seem to be over inflated for the mods listed, unlike some optimistic mapping companies!

I'll be doing some other mods like RIP and suspension to complement the extra grunt.

As you know, I do alot of bracket racing and my aim is to get the auto into the 13 second bracket and I think this may just do it. I was originally going to buy another car (a non-gay manual) for the strip, but running a brace T5s would be just too costly over here and I'm quite fond of mine tbh. Anyway, it'd be an awesome daily driver with that spec.

Anyone on the forum had any dealings with the company? I'm really impressed with the speed of response to my enquiry and the informative reply which is why they'll get my business, plus they're only about two hours drive up the road

When it's all done next year I'll do a review of the whole set-up.

    Opinions and thoughts welcome!

As someone who runs a remapped (not by MTE) T5 auto I'd be keen to know if thats true, particularly of the off the shelf maps.

Hello mate, here is part of the email Marc (ET boss) sent me; the ecu stuff re the auto sounds very good to me too!

    Hi Jerry,

personally I think a Stage 5 is a bit too much for an automatic
transmission. Stage 4 will do, all depending on who's software you want to
run. We can provide excellent MTE software for any set-up and we are the
only ones that keep the communication between engine-ecu and
transmission-ecu working. So it will still shift smooth and lower torque for
a fraction of a second during gearshifts at full throttle.

You can keep your current cat-back, the 3" downpipe we provide with the kit
as the original connection for the cat-back. So it will bolt on normally.

Your current Rica-map will not work with our Stage 4 kit, as we change
injectors, turbo, intercooler etc. etc. The current map you use is not
set-up for these big amounts of changes, the car will run but will give
problems at WOT. Fueling and boostcontroll will be off the scale if you run
    it with an non-adjusted mapping.

Will keep you up to date as it develops!

doesn't sound bad, but wonder why their going for the 18T instead of the 19T

also i've tried the K&N cone & it wasn't as good as the Pipercross. I'd also see if they'd do a full 3" Ferrita instead of going down to 2.5". Ferrita make a 3" downpipe that fits that is also 3" after the cat which mates then to there own 3" rear section

Dunno re the 18T mate- their boss has the stage 4 set up which is chucking out 337hp- that'll do for me and the box will withstand that with the custom mapping

I've got the BSR filter and a JT 3" catback which they'll be using when they fit the 3" d/p

ah yeh, i must of knew about them but i've been to sleep since lol. Say Ferrita do a 3" downpipe with 3" outlet which will hook-up nicely to the JT system

The 18T is as good, and some people feel better, than a 19T.

19T is to 'laggy' for an auto IMHO, also mapping to get Autobox to play nicely isn't easy in my experiance, but when it is mapped as an auto, they can be made very driveable

As someone who runs a pretty quick auto Id say not to bother....The thing starts to slip as sson as you put any meaningful power through it.

My last dyno showed 305 at the front wheels and it slips like a goodun' even when driven with consideration!

auto to manual is you only real option Im afraid.
    '96 855 T5 auto ...GT30 and everything uprated!
