Highly recomended mod for those who've not got one & not to costly , fitted in about 15 mins....Brill....!.

    ME TOO.....shiny Volvo BLING....
I thought fitting one was purely psycological. But I did notice the less roll during cornering.
Not really checked the torque steer but I'm not really sure how a brace would lower this.....?

I'm not sure how, but the strut brace does reduce torque steer to a noticeable degree. Must be something to do with reducing the amount of independent movement between the left & right suspension.

If it improves a cars handling that much why don't they fit them as standard...?.

No, just means they didn't design the suspension very well in the first place

    Strut braces

A mechanic told me that car manufacturers are reluctant to fit strut braces as standard since they stiffen up the movement in the front end of the car that normally occurs when the suspension turrets move independently; this results in more vibration and torque being transmitted into the front bulkhead and the shell in general, and apparently is far more likely to result in sqeaks and rattles from trim - which dealers hate as they tend to be a time consuming/constantly recurring/ warranty job....

As a result, they make do with the bog-standard set up, which, unless woefully bad, won't be noticed by johnny taxpayer. Unlike the squeaks and rattles....

Ah ha - I drove to the midlands for mine - £65 +VAT, mind you dwarfed by the rest of the bill, (RICA, 2xfront shocks, ITG filter, oil change, front n/s drop link, labour and various other bits),

Oh and the optimax to get there and back -(270 miles) - actually quite a bit of cash for these strut braces all in all. Still love it tho................
