V70 roof bars - good, bad or ugly?

Im in two minds on whether to remove my roof bars from my V70 as ive seen other V70s and they seem to look 'cleaner' without them.

Whats the general consensus on them?

Unless you have a real use for them, take them off for a cleaner look. Then, stick them up on eBay, make a good wedge of dough and spend it on something for your car.

I think the mounting points have a cover, but I'm not sure whether they stay on the car or are removed when the bars are fitted.

Better on! i bought them stuck them on and never use them, but they're there if i need them.
You will need to get full length trims if you remove them to make up the shortfall with the bars removed! up to you but the opinions will be split no doubt as with everything in life!

Bought a set from a breakers and fitted them about 3 months ago, initially liked the new look of the car. But the more I look at it now it seems to be too tall!

To remove them you will need to get a set of full covers to run from the bottom of the windscreen all the way to boot - I guess the best option would be to sell them on condition you can swop the covers!

Just to repeat what has already been said. You need full length plastic runner inserts, the go from the bonnet to the tailgate. Check the pic below of my car and you will see what we mean. They are a bit hard to see but if you squin a bit you'll see the black trim lol.

keep em, they're potentially more handy on the car than off.

without them you can't move a 3-peice suite in one go, with them I did

Ive had 4 estates and they all had roof bars when i got them, like this ...................

But i have no use for them and like to clean the lines of the car so remove them and now it looks like this.....................

Ive always been lucky and got really good condition runners to replace them, the last set i payed £10 for and they were off a V70 on a 99 plate, they were like brand new.

@ Cameron, yeah the roof rail less look is definately better but the Pegs and tints prob help too (your car looks sweet btw).

I might pop down the scrappys and se if hes got any v70/850 breakers in and try and get some runners

Brilliant to hold on too when washing your car! Saves sticking your greasy mits on the paintwork.

Mine came with em as standard so they're gonna stay, I'm not too fussed about them either way, don't think they spoil the look of the car.
