    Heater Core connections 850T5

Do any of you splendid people know the part number of the above?
Can't find it anywhere on t'interweb.

And to add insult to injury the stupid hose came away at the bulkhead, very, very easily as I was twisting it to get at the retaining screws, leaving a sizeable amount of black plastic on the bulkhead end of said errant hose, presumably that means a new core...

    Thanks

Pm RUFE, he should be able to give you the part number and a damn good price too...

The Heater matrix is not directly connected to the bulkhead, instead there are some aluminium pipes that go from the bulkhead down to the matrix. I would have thought a good secondhand one would do myself if it's just the bulkhead connection that's gone..

I had the same problem. Even when I got the two new clips and the right oil seals it still leaked. In the end I bypassed it with 5/8" heater hose staraight through the bulk head onto the matrix pipes. Worked a treat mate. Easy job too you can get to the matrix easy from the passanger side. Just pull back the plastic paneling. Im thinking your heater rad will be o.k. fingers crossed.........

    Unhappy

Thanks for the replies - even though I stopped to let the car cool as soon as the coolant warning light came on and drove it the last 3 miles home at about 1200rpm once it had cooled - the head gasket is blown and the head is probably warped - the engine oil has all but gone.
At 160,000 miles I'm not going to repair it.
    So it's bye bye T5

If anyone wants the car for free pm me.
I'll put up a seperate post.

Faithful, thoroughly enjoyable, beautiful, stylish car - let down by a bit of rubber & plastic.
