    Problems

Hi, everyone i have been having really bad life problems with my beautiful one of kind 854R. its covered 160k and i don’t know why it will no turn over. Basically it started when i was overheating. i changed the whole thermostat housing, then cleaned the pipes and it was fine but the engine fan was not coming on after 90 degrees. Then on the motor way i seen i was losing oil and water rapidly and stopped and as soon as i did the car switched off and was leaking water under the car and there was no oil at all. So i looked under the car and could seriously not find this leak? Then i checked my spark plugs and my HD leads and sparkies were nearly melted so got new ones on and still nothing it just will not turn over. And the reason why i lost oil and water at the time i was on the motorway was a pipe that was disconnected. It was the one that connects to the intake pipe near the turbo pipe its like a L pipe on top of the intake pipe.

So please if you could tell me what i can do I’ll really appreciate it.

    Many Thanks

Bummer. First impression is that heat has damaged your starter feed. If you've cured the leak then you are well on the way to recovery though. You sound well switched on mate, keep us posted.

Mate I hope first of all you haven't overheated your engine because if you had all your work could be in vain. What noise is your car making when you try to start. Is it a click or is the battery turning?

Yeah it has been overheated and the sound the car makes is different it’s like its turning over but cant spark it just sounds different and the battery does no charge what so ever when I try and battery charge it from a car ? I will try to post a video.

Could well be that it's siezed, if you loose all your oil and water while on something like a motorway then it would spell death for the engine pretty damn quickly. Best thing to do is to whip the plugs out, make sure the battery is fully charged and see if it will turn over freely, if it still struggles then it's more than likely knackered.

    Exclamation

You say it sounds different now. Is it spinning over abnormally fast? If so,loss of compression is a likely cause. Very least head gasket.

Thanks Alan, yeah it sounds different to a normal turn over. It does not sounds like its tuning fast but sounds more like it wants to spark but just loses battery a lot of battery because i left the other car running to charge mine up but it just dies as soon as i take the jump leads out? Very strange as well is that the engine is vibrating when its on ignition and its coming from the idle control valve? Very strange.

    Many Thanks

Not to worry you but if you've partially seized it then it will be really hard to turn over, could be why it cuts out when you take the jump leads off(hopefully it's not though).

I have been helping out my country at this critical time were we are fighting for freedom, we are having no democracy from out dictator government and peoples votes has not been accounted. I have been sending money abroad to help my family out i will need it to be very cheap if possible?

Hope for you, that when they do a compresion test it's ok.
Have had a simular thing(well my turbo spewed out all the oil)and there was a hole in one piston(again hope this is not the case)
    So i ordered a rebuilt(don't know what it's called,but in short 5 new pistons,etc,etc)total costs:about 4500euros(that was for a 855R,the car in the pic)),including a new turbo aswell.

    Good luck,walter

The good side of this(if there is any),you have a new one

Not to sound like a bringer of bad news mate but having to repeat all above it sounds like its beat. Deffo on the compression test. My fingers are crossed for you.

If you don't mind me asking you say your trying to help out the country, I have alot of admiration for people who do. What you doing?

Yeah i hope compression test will conclude everything,

Really brilliant, i have been organising a rally for the people that want to speak out with the Persian nation about the rigged vote and the freedom of our country, so i have organised the biggest Persian TV (VOA) to come this weekend to my biggest rally in oxford road.

    Many Thanks

    :-)

Forgot to say buddy, you seek and you will find. One of our members found a complete T5 lump on flea-bay for very little money last week so don't lose heart.
