Does your T5 beg you to drive it?

I have owned many cars in the 18 years I have been driving. Some cars I have had...... Saph Cossie 2wd, Renault 5 GT turbo, 205 GTI 1.9 (4 of these) 205 GTI 1.6 (5 of these!) Golf GTI MK2 16v, Golf GTI MK2 8v, RS Turbo Escort 90 spec, Golf MK3 VR6 and many more!!!!!

Anyway!! This is my first Volvo, and being the 850 T5 they need no introduction having many of the UK's Police forces using them. What can I say...... My T5 is by far the best car I have owned. She is faster than my old Cossie and yet very comfy. I came back from walking my dogs and saw my car just sat there outside my house. I had to get the keys, go back out and take her for a drive. I thought I would just take her round the block, instead I have just covered 41 miles...... These cars are fantastic!! Anyone else had the urge to just get out and drive your T5 for no purpose as in getting somewhere, just for the drive?

I Totally agree.... I have only had mine now less than a week and already managed to collect a nice ticket from a nice police man. First one in 10 years and I thought i was driving sedately because its sooo smooth and quiet......still....... It was worth it.... best car I have had to date....

Not good about the ticket chap

They are such great cars, sooooo smooth. I reset my trip computer whilst on the A5. I put her on cruise at 60mph and sat back and chilled to the tunes, got a return of 36.2 mpg, ultra happy.

I have the premium sound upgrade, the sound for standard stereo is fantastic.

Nothing quite like a T5. Mine is top spec with ECC,premium sound with 8 speakers,multi-changer,full leather, cruise, etc, etc. If I was a virgin.I'd probably say it was my best life experience. And I've had some interesting vehicles. Rover V8's,an XR4x4 Turbo Technics, the list goes on and on. Hmmmmmmmmmm!!!!

    Hi!
My name is Pookie. It wasn't so bad at first, just now and then. But as time went on, I realised that I couldn't let the days go by, without going out for a really good blat. It's every day now! Am I an addict?

Yes, I'm afraid you've come over to our side of the fence. The down side is that there is no cure. But then do you really want cured.

Absolutely have to get out in it all the time. Thing is mine is in the garage for moddin'. I'm getting serious withdrawl symptoms now, the shakes and everything. Here's another thing was in southern Ireland, a long drive. Now Ireland doesn't believe in 24 hour places so feeling very very tired and unable to find a B and B I reclined the seat through a blanket over me and good lord they are even super comfortable to sleep in. They really are the full package. If they were a woman they'd be the perfect Cheryl Cole.

Like mine with the full leather, cruise, etc etc! My premium sound system has the 8 speakers with the multi-changer in boot.....i'm most happy with this sound!

What did you think to the XR4X4 Turbo Technics mate compared to a T5 as in performance? My T5 is a tad faster then my old Saph 2wd Cossie. The 4X4 TT's were meant to be amzing cars, ultra rare now!

Well i'm leaving to go to Glasgow in at 4 thus me being awake at this unhealthy hour.....lol! AA Route Finder is showing 356.9 miles there. Got to go all the way there to collect my step Dad's Mum then come all the way back, a 714 mile round trip! Filled the tank to the top earlier and got my fav' 6 CD's in changer!!

You and me both mate! I take my other half to work every morning and I usually end up taking a nice detour on the way home!
I loved my 340 cuda but it never really got the hang of going round corners like the T5 lol

Quite often when I get home I have to tell the wife that the car didn't feel right and I have to just run it round the block to make sure everything is alright. For the next two days I am working 30 miles away and the only way there is a mixture of some fast dual carriageway and twisty but well surfaced country lanes. Can't stop now must get going!!!!

Im so jealous ...stuck here at work :-( I drove to Scotland a few weeks ago in my 855R did 1100 miles over 4 days .... it was effortless set the cruise control on the way up and opened it up a bit on the way back ...Car performed faultlessly .... still returned 32mpg :-)

This is my second one now I had an Alfa 75 for a while but missed the volvo too much ...cant praise them enough :-)

On Thursday i picked my car up from having a full longlife turbo back system and finally sorted out the boost controller to be running just over 1bar of boost, i threw £30 of vpower in and reset the trip computer.
I managed 9mpg all night, what an experience
Downside was 50 miles to £30 of vpower, worth every penny though!
