Rear wiper blade doesnt clean well.

In all the Volvo's i have been in the rear wipers are crap, I changed the rear wiper in the V40 a couple of weeks ago and its worse than ever it doesnt even touch the window, is there some way to adjust it???

You adjust it like this and then never let the car get dirty!

try spraying in between the hinge on the wiper arm with wd40 and pull it away from the rear glass backwards & forwards a few times to free it up, this may help as they get really bunged up and the tension does'nt push the blade onto the glass properly!!!!!!

Or get a one piece jobbie off a clio they look much tidier

Wot 'e sed about da Clio conversion. Looks neat.

May be a better bet than a new standard arm. We couldn't cure the problem when I worked in Volvo service. Lazy gits just fitted new wiper arms, the springs lose tension.

This is the V40 though the wiper is similar to the Clio. I will try the Willy Desal oil in the spring

Clio wiper also fits V40, as I have checked on a 2001MY, spring is stronger, and gives a better wipe IMHO

my origional thread on the clio wipers on here was lost in the big crash last year

I haven't got a spoiler on V40, but I would be fairly confident it would be clear, as its very slim at end (far better clearance on V70 than the origional wiper blade/arm)

V40 and 855/V70 have similar fitting. IIRC it was accutely slopply fit on V40 but once nut was on, tightened fine.
