just wondering if anyone has bought one of these from america if so would you rate it? i want to order one as it's cheap and has added advantage of 3" downpipe for the price of a cat-back system.

rust is an issue but for the price i thinks fair, although i thought stainless didn't rust.
cheers smithness is it that exact item? do you remember how much you paid for shipping then import tax? did it bolt straight up no modification or difficulty as i'l be fitting it and i'm a novice

I have the rusty stainless OBX item. I have the angled outlet downpipe on mine and the performance increase was very noticable but o was the noise. Thre is a very slight drone at certain revs at high speed but most of my driving is in the city so it doesn't nother me to much plus I fitted a high flow cat which killed some of the noise.

You don't need to damage your downpipe to get it to fit either. All you need to do is alter the heat shield/ bash plate between the steering rack and downpipe to miss the downpipe. All mine did was rub off the exhaust wrap I used anyway. I got mine for about £370 all in at my door nearly a year ago.

It took only a couple of months for the cat back part of the system to rust over quite cosiderably bar the rea box.

Apparantly they are all made from the same grade but mine is the only one to show such rust, mmmmmmm.... strange that especially as they wouldn't refund or exchange my item. That might have been my fault though as I never sent the warranty card off. The rust only appears to b on the surface as it rubs off easily with wire wool. It soon lost its nice shiny finish with the Britsh weather. I will be running a cat back in 3 inch when I have the time and cash and will use a very good grade of 304 not the poor mans 304 that the OBX is made from.

Don't get me wrong on the system, I am not happy with the material quality but the power increase was a very big improvement and with a 304 map my car ran 271hp and 416nm on a 16t turbo. Those figures wer up on 202hp and 300Nm as standard.

i'm still getting same setup. 3" downpipe, decat then 2 1/2". to a medium sized centre box with a 3" outwardly rolled tail pipe. i was going to go for just a cat back setup originally but hope to get a bit more hopefully due to the downpipe/ decat.
