It's certainly possible to get these engines upto and past that sort of power output, but it takes a hell of a lot more than just a remap. The connecting rods are the week point, these need replacing, then a much, much bigger turbo is needed, along with bigger injectors etc,etc... I could go on but then again why should I when R.T.Mechanics have already built a car that's exceeded those figures....

No possibility that you mean 310bhp is there? The answer's no, again, but it's a little more realistic!

    Cheers.

    Hi Spesh

I did not know you have 510 or more hp its not that its impossible its just the standard ecu will limit you with such things as a maf etc it would need to handle the power and have the adjustability you would need with such crazy silly numbers

Hi Russ, can you give more specific information - what do you think the limit for a 850/S7-/V70 MAF is?. What other specific limitations are there when you mention"maf etc".

    Thanks in anticipation

I'm already hitting the MAF limits with my T4 and that's hardly running any real power at all.

The T4 will saturate it's larger MAF very early due to the type of sensor.

If you have well written software then even when the MAF reaches it's limits it should not be hard to tune. Another option would be to adapt the standard ECU to read MAP then you would not have to forgo all the in built safety features and alarm/ immobiliser and ABS.

I bought the VEMS system for my T4 after seeing some of the work achieved on it, it is a really impressive bit of kit. Never actually got round to fitting mine though lol
Still sat in a cupboard looking all scary with like 200 wires :O

Also with these sysems do you have to run coil packs?

Hiya mate, I got mine direct from VEMS (only way to get them) but there is a guy on the uk vems forum (Rob I think he was called) who arranged the whole thing for us.
T5 will run fine off it, it supports up to V10 I think.
No coil packs required, although it can support those too (like the T4)

    Hope that helps
