Fitted Forge Dum valve to my S40 T4

Hi All. I just thought Id post and see if anyone has fitted one of these dump valve kits as I fitted one (with the help of a mate) and it just doesnt sound right at all. You can hardly hear the release of the valve at all, inside and outside the car, even when the car is booted it just doesnt sound as loud as an atomospheric DV should sound.

We have checked all the pipe work/installation etc and all it seems fine. the DV is working as you can see it opening/closing. The only thing my mate said was that the internal spring fitted might be the wrong type for my car as I am running a RICA 580 (+35bhp) so might need a slightly uprated spring.

The spring currently fitted is the yellow one, which according to forge is the correct type for a T4.

Does anyone think I need to fit the next gauge spring up? (which would be blue)

Right, got the specs for the different rated springs and it looks like the yellow spring is correct as theres no way my car is running the spec needed for the blue spring.

    Green - 5-15 PSI
    Yellow - 15-23 PSI
    Blue - 23-30 PSI
    Red - 30 + PSI

So I really dont know whats up with it.

it impresses 14 year olds........why else would you fit one, all they do is mess up the fuelling on cars with MAF sensors and cause problems.

out of interest does anybody want to swap a std recirc valve and piping for a baileys dump valve and hosing as the airfilter dumps loud enough for me to the point where its hard to tell what is making more noise filter or valve.

    Oh I have a phase 2 2.0T4
