    EMMMMMMMMMMM

    S3 = 210 bhp 1.8T

    0 - 60 in 6.8secs

    T5 = 265 bhp ( maybe ) 2.3T

    0 - 60 in just under 7 secs ( maybe )

    Id say you done well to say the Volvo's are big heavy cars.

    I have

    No offence to the lads about here but they love their scoobys, until i beat them,

    Ive went for the sleeper look, no flashy wheels or noisy exhausts.

    Its shocked a few lads about Oldham

    In my poorly running 850R manual, (it got 282bhp a few months ago) i raced my mates EVO4 rs with 276bhp weight 1260kg, and he pulled car and half length in 2nd gear, he stopped pulling when i went in to 3rd and in 4th gear i was pulling on him fairly well. Seeing as he was in an evo and i was in a volvo estate, was pretty dam happy with that one haha! My friends RICA'd auto saloon R's pull on E46 (2000 reg) M3's, so gives you an idea of things.

    not meaning to hi-jack your thread or anythin but I had some w4nker in an 07 plate Civic type R 'try' and undercut me this morning, as you do I instantly thought you can 4 cough and floored it, mine kicked down instantly and in a straight line he could'nt get infont of me and ended up coming back in behind me! I know on the twisty bits he'd of left me for dead as mine's just a standard 99 V70 T5 but It still amazes me how quickly it accelerates in a straight line, I just love the look on an unsuspecting drivers face in my rear view mirror when I wipe the floor with them in my 'boxy Volvo estate' costing a fraction of their crapy rep-mobile bmw's and audi's

    Does it have standard map, or is it RICA'd/MTE'd?

    As far as I know it's a standard 1999 ME7 V70 T5? I've only had it about 6 months but am already deeply in love with it!! I've always hankered after a T5 since the 850 T5 was new and I was a spotty teenager, now at 32 years old ive finally got one (V70 tho) and I can honestly say its the best car ive ever owned and I will NEVER sell it!

    I think as standard, an ME7 engined T5 should produce 240bhp, well mine certainly feels like it does and more!!

    How can I tell if its been chipped before I bought it?

    240bhp is pre ME7 V70R auto power. I thought the T5's were 225bhp, but they have changes so much i have lost track.
    Thanks

    I dont know much about ME7 but i think they map them through the OBD port which if it has you wont be able to see it. A sure way is to put it on a rolling road, it costs me £35 for 4 runs mates rates, but they range normally from £35 up to £70 for a power run.

    I got a full diagnostic check, setup and power run for £70 at High-Tech motorsports in cradley heath...

    Going again once the engine work's been done, see if I can get away with not gettin a remap... I like how aggressive it is with the MBC...

    The S3 is four wheel drive, lighter and with comparable power, so you've done alright there mate.
    Due to their weight, Volvo's are never to to lend themsleves to great 0-30, but once the inertia has been beaten, they do roll on well. And as for beating Scoob's, having come from one, you'll be spending out some money before you do, their power to weight is much better than ours. I still would nt go back to one though.

    Yes pre ME7 auto R's are 240 bhp but the later ME7 S70/V70 T5's were also running 240 bhp...

    Not all of them are quick, a rica'd volvo will pull on the older one's.
