    Angry Obd 2

Connected a scanner to my obd 2 socket on my 1997 850 t5 but linking error kept appearing on scanner screen. tried the scanner on another car (corsa)and the scanner worked as it should,
Have I got a faulty obd 2 socket or is the scanner not compatable with my volvo?
Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
    THANKS

Mine's OBD II, I'm presuming that to mean "2"

    Is that good?

None of the 850's are OBDII compliant, even those that have OBDII ports.

My bad, I'd forgotten one thing, late 2.5 20V NA & 2.5 LPT cars fitted with Motronic 4.4 engine management systems do have working OBDII. The rest don't. This probably explains why the cover has OBDII stamped on it, it'll be a standard trim piece used across the entire range.

The full details can be found on the VOC forums somewhere, or ask Jod.
