tried out the new hole cutter & must say i'm very impressed, didn't have any problem getting thru the Volvo metal (won't be long before i kill Mr Drill tho lol). Also wiped the cobwebs off Mr Grinder & cut some more out of the rear doors (another 1kg each door gone)

A nice clean cut-out Duane. Have you managed to source a company to supply the Aluminium?

I have been looking around a few cars and I would double check as to whether you need the door cards for MOT as I have seen a few that are fully roadworthy without them.

i've ordered a couple of aluminium panels off ebay to do the front doors, because theirs no rear seats i don't think they'll be an issue but will do them eventually. The new hole cutter really just eat straight thru the metal without even bothering, best one i've used

Can you replace the bushes if it burns out or is Mr Drill a 20 squid special from B&Q?

Good bit of Kit for £12 then. I remember fitting the towbar onto the estate and having to drill through the rear frame to get the bolts through. I snapped my holesaw doing that but luckily Mr Makita drill lived to fight on

not smoking yet but did get very VERY warm. Think its a cheap Bosch & could do with a bit more power anyway if he does pass away

ah Makita top piece of kit you see. I tend to overheat & blunt my holesaws, but this didn't even flinch enough to get warm (unlike the drill lol). LINK i'd certainly buy another if i needed one

Pedro why not just get rid of the rear doors and cut a sheet to fit in would save alot of weight and also its not as if your gunna need the rear doors and just change the log book to a 2seater
