    V4o Corrosion Problems

    Hi,
I have just purchased a 2004 V40 1.8 SE and have since noticed that it has quite alot of surface rust around the sills behind the front wheels and on the lower half of both front doors.
For the age of the car, it seems a large amount given the condition of the rest of the car and I was wondering what the chances would be of getting it sorted under the 8 year corrosion warranty?
    Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

Just cover it with waxoil body seal and it'll be good for years! Every car I ever owned went like that!

The only place I have noticed that the V40's rust at is either side of the lower boot lid they look like they hit the bumper, both mine went that way (2001 & 2003 models).
    Thanks

Shouldn't be any rust at such a young age IMO.
I'd check to see if it's had any new paint at some point, and this suggests maybe some poor prep work??

V40 boots tend to get water in them from the rear window washer an easy fix with some sillycone!

i have a 97 v40 and it doesn't have a spot of rust anywhere! which i find quite impressive compared to newer cars i have had in the past which have had real problems.. must just be luck i suppose..
