    whats the the difference between a 2.0t and T4

    as above, apart from the 30 odd bhp and 2 insurance groups,

    iv yet to drive a T4 but was very impressed with the build quality of the 52 reg 2.0t sport lux.
    iv never owned a volvo yet and fancy somat quick and a sleeper,
    what advise can you offer me on buying 1

    You've pretty much covered it, 160bhp v 200bhp. 14T turbo on the T4 compared with the low pressure 12T on the 2.0T. The ECU will also be setup differently. I believe the gear boxes are the same on both models.

    People who run high spec S40s tend to have the T4 engine as it has the advantage of lower compression pistons.

    The price of both of them is great at the moment and the Sports Lux has nice additions such as front spoiler, leather interior, Xenon healights and 17" alloys on the later models 53 plates etc.

    I'd have thought there was a good chance of the suspension being different as well? At often least it is on the larger Volvos.

    My wife has a 03 2.0t Sport Lux since new and it's been great. As previously mentioned generally the main difference is the power but I'm sure the interior was of a higher spec on the Sport Lux than you could get on the T4. I have driven a T4 and I'm sure the suspension was firmer but maybe I was dreaming......

    il have to view a T4 and test drive that, the insurance is only bout £30 more on the T4.
    are there any problem areas to look for?

    my brother had the 2.0t and i have a T4 and he said the suspension was the same,he said the only differences is the BHP and his volvo badge wasnt on the boot lid.......what a statto he is lol

    my friend who is a volvo machanic says the rear springs tend to go on S40'S other wise there pretty bullet proof

    theers a couple on ebay that seem ok, theres a 51 reg with £1350 bin, no tax, shame its 165 mile away from
