    Another Pre-Winter Mod

With the weather turning I've been busy doing the Pre-Winter checks.

You might have already seen this one regarding "Twin Rear Fogs"

    http://http//www.volvot5.co.uk/forum...read.php?t=197

But now this is one to think about.

As we all know the Windscreen Washer Jets on the 850's are terrible with there twin jet design.

Well why not swap them out for the Fan Spray ones from the S70/V70

The newer nozzles are somewhat larger than the stock 850 items but the advantages outweigh the disadvantages in this instance I think.

I drove a 850T5 with the fan spray and I felt it was covering the windshield a bit too much, reducing visability alot, even if it is for a few short seconds. I really dig the rear fog light mod however.

I'm concerned about the spray & visibility too - personally can't see much wrong with std 850 twin-jet ~ but I'm a T5 noob so far...!

    Fun in the twisties!

Maybe it was the XCV70 I drove, can't remember exacty, all I know is the fan spray is too much. Speaking of Winter, I usualy put 4 studded tires on my 75 242 and that thing is almost unstoppable. Yes, even with the RWD.

No thanks.......I want to see whats in front of me, not a fan of spattered H2O, look at the posted pictures above. You can't see through the windscreen. Is that safe? That's like a baby cow spray'ng milk in your face. Just look at the photos, the first picture you CAN see the vehicle in front of you, the secord picture you CAN NOT see the vehicle in front, I would rather be able to see the vehicle in front of me. It sure does spray the windscreen though. Not a good MOD IMO. The rear fog light was great mention though, I will try that in the morning as it is getting cold as CORN these days, take care you guys.....I'm out.....

I think Bracers pic makes the blurring worse than it is (probably the flash on his camera) cos it certainly doesnt blind you from the road in front when sprayed! also its only for a split second as the wiper is on its way up to clear the screen anyway!

Well, with all this talk about visibility, I reckon you can see enough to live the time it takes the wiper to catch up, and you can still see the car in front, Oh, tried that rear fog light link didn't work for me, what is this mod all about???

I see your concern, but think about it, why do you need washer nozzles........err to clean the windscreen, so basically your better off getting a good disperse of water to get a good clean result than your are of trying to drive with a dirty windscreen.

And the pics do make it look allot more impaired than it actually is.

Do it you wont regret it.
