    Question Change me nose (grille)

I've been looking around and found these:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Volvo-Grille-S...1%7C240%3A1318

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VOLVO...Q5fAccessories

Should I change to a mesh? All chromed or chrome surround to dark mesh?
Or just do a mod piching an idea from another forumite and paint the vertical bits a darker colour

Don't let age define you. It's a number that's all.

    hi rob,
i must be honest im not a fan, i think these look a bit odd on our cars (the phase 2 models)
on the 850's i think their ok.
personally i prefer the r type egg crate style.

if you do go for the mesh grill then may i suggest a black one.

    sorry mate

    Very sneaky sir!

I have now got a chrome one on instead!

No slash on yet, I also fitted an s60 p2 one (eggcrate) with silicone & a prayer! Looked ok, but up close..... well I'm sure you can guess!

As I stated beppie, it's off an S60, so it's a bad fit, to small in the height. I used silicone to hold it in place, but up close it looks... odd.

It was fun for a giggle, but not for life (unlike the car! Fun for both!) It's your money & up to you. I put a moose on it as the badge was a tad goosed! Yellow moose, black background.

OK. I think concensus is don't, unless a black grill used. I'll have another thunk and save me pennies then.

T5 vs D5 - lets not get into that little discussion. I bought it, it's mine and I'm keeping it. I'd still like more oomph but with economy please.

The first chrome one you have there (£32 + £6.50 p&p) is the one I have just shown you!

It is a black mesh, tho it's badly painted!

My advice is, get one, trim down the slash off your old one, then buy some black primer from halfrauds!

    It makes a big difference!

Cutting the ends off the slash are.... tricky!

It amazes me how it looks straight once you've cut it, but the moment you put it on the car, it's just a wee touch squint!

You really need to cut with the badge in mind! It's the key! The angle of the slash puts you off!

I put the mesh one on mine and it looked awful on its own and the paint came off within two days, From a distance all you could see was the horns behind.

I think that combo way looks great. I love mine but now I've seen that badge on thebadger's eggcrate one I am changing my mind.

Where did you get the moose sticker from badger?

Also I think Jonno is quite willing to do another grille if you ask him.

    www.davebarton.com

    For all your moose needs!

You can find them on fleabay, but they're ripped off ones, buy them from dave as he came up with the idea & his prices are top notch!

I reccomend the magnetic backed ones for meets etc...

    You know it makes sense!

just be careful when you put on the mesh one, not to push the mesh as it may bend it, or pull it off the frame!

Are you going with the slash?

Try & get one second hand! Ebay or a scrappy, don't think you should defile the good work on the painted one!

Looks lovely, but I like the "sunken" look of the mesh, bit more sporty!
