I'm surprised by the Volvo recommendation of Semi Synthetic and not Fully Synthetic....usually anything with a turbo needs the best mainstream oil possible ie. fully synth.

Think the ME7 cars are fully synth mate, recommended by Volvo. Does seem strange the 850's are semi.

This can cause problems if not done properly and you will have to do it again sometime down the line and buy another inlet manifold gasket for yourself the second time.
Checked mine and I need to do mine as well but i'm skint so i will just have wait to do it. I just hope nothing goes wrong till i get to do it.

Bigger discs, better retardation. As far as I'm led to believe the pad carriers, longer flexis and discs are the complete mod. No doubt someone will come along and correct me if I'm wrong.

the 302 disks use the same pads,. all that is happening is by spaceing the pads further out makes it easier to put some more grip on the disk an hence slow down bit easier... same principal as using say a 50mm spanner to undo a nut,... using a 200mm spanner would make a far easier job of it. its about the rotational torque effect. hope this helps

well all done. took 3 hours in all do the pcv valve and tbh wasn't as bad as i expected even to a novice.
was worried though on the way home when it wouldn't boost. popped the bonnet when i got home and i'd missed a jubilee clip on an intercooler hose lol
oops. other than that all is well. shall upload video of the loud exhaust later.
    thanks for your help
