Good Volvo Mechanics down South

Hi all

Reading alot of threads, all you guys and VT are miles away :-( Does anyone know of any good Volvo mechs/tuners down South that I could use. I just cannot bring myself to go to a stealer Volvo dealer - couldn't afford to even if I did!!!

Phil Whittaker Cars in Beaconsfield, near Slough. They are an independent Volvo dealer that does repairs and tuning.

Very local to me as well. Expecting Mr Service Light to come on soon - so trip to Beconsfield may very well be carried out.

I am really fussy as to who looks after my car and have known these guys for years and trust them (totally) to do a top quality job at very low prices. They are not too far from you at Farnborough Hants and definitely worth a call.

My car is booked in next week for an air-con evaporator leak and although it isn't going to be cheap, its nothing like the mega bucks main dealers charge.

Another new member here and I just wanted to endorse Liam's comments about ACC UK Ltd. I took my T5 in there last week to have the nasty-to-get-at vacuum pipe replaced and rear suspension mounts checked (sure enough they'd gone!). Service was excellent. Had two vacuum pipes replaced, the rear suspension top mounts changed and the fuel filter replaced (it'd been on since new and the car's done 135k miles). All in £150 which I thought was pretty good. But it was the service that made it stand out. No affiliation of course - just a happy customer.

Farp, good to see that some garages still retain good customer service, i think we need to build our own data base of where to go or reccomended garages in the uk.

I think that's a great idea Justin, you never know when you may find yourself in a fix needing help when you're out and about, so knowledge of repairers recommended by Volvo T5 owners would be a great advantage to us all.

If your down in kent you should look up s.w.autos they worked wonders on my problemed s70 t5 and it's never run better. they produce some very fast volvos indeed!
