Low Oil Pressure Light

Hi Guys,

Had a bit of a search on both the 70 and 850 series sections but cant really find anything similar.

My oil light keeps coming on but strangely only when I turn corners (2.5 10V)?! Checked the oil level and its fine.It had a service in november(belts etc). It can be a bit 'chatty' when started from cold but it drives fine and theres no smoke or anything.

Any help would be appreciated,

If your oil level is ok then obviously it's not that. My next port of call would be oil pressure. Firstly what oil are you using? Second, i assume you have a pre '97 car?? The engines on the pre 97 models were renouned for sticking hydraulic lifters. Volvo corrected this with a modification. If you are using a good semi synthetic grade oil then it is probably your oil pick-up blocked (carboned up by a lack of regular oil changes) or the oil pump itself. It could also be a faulty pressure switch. Change the switch first then go for the oil and pump.
