There was a thread on here on how to bring the black on the bumpers back up and the way to do it was to use a heat gun

I got mine off ebay. Was about £15 at the time although Ive not seen any listings for it recently.

Applied it to my badly faded bumpers about a year now and they still look brand new.

    Well "worth" it lol

If you cant find the Wurth bumper restorer you could use simmons back to black. It does a good job on my bumpers but does not last very long. When it rains it comes off but looks great for a bit.

This has been discussed many times and there are many differing opinions.

I myself use Kiwi Liquid Wax shoe polish the one with the sponge on the top.

Easy to apply and works a treat, it doesnt wash off in the rain and turns the bumpers a deep shiny black after only 1 application, obviously the more coats the better it looks but i can do all my bumper trims in 10 minutes and it lasts for ages

    Cheers

Wurth bumper dye is the dog's b*****ks. Black or grey. Trade only product, however the best way to get some is go to a local garage who use Wurth products and order through them.

Got mine through a double glazing company that had a Wurth account and they ordered it in for me. Or try a couple of local garages as Pookie has suggested.

    I agree with Cameron.

You cannot beat Kiwi liquid shoe polish with the sponge applicator.

I have tried various methods but this is simply unbeatable.

    One coat has lasted months.

Whilst shoe polish is good it is not a patch on the Wurth dye stuff.
Ive used it on a few Dubs and it lasts for years, your effectively painting the surface of the textured bumper, no shoe polish does that....

a guy i once new many moons ago used to use old engine oil on a rag.
yes it made his bumpers have a shine to them and luster but it stunk to hi heven and you could not stand anywhere near the car for getting dirty and when it rained there were nice droplets of rainbow patterns all over the place from the bumpers being wet.

Kiwi polish will be a lot less hassle to get a hold of.

Lots of detailers swear by it.

I experimented and was well chuffed with the result.

Good luck with your search and then post your before and after pics.

    cheers

Shoe polish does not permeate the surface of plastic though, ive tried Kiwi amongst others and yes it does work but it is not a permanent solution.
The Wurth stuff re-colours your bumpers and is a permanent solution...

    Wurth part no.s are:-
    black 0893 280 1
    anthracite 0893 280 2

Another non permamnent solution but it lasts a couple of months is wet look tyre gel. I used Mequiars and it was the easiest and best solution I have tried. Have not used Wurth though. Yet.

Its not 'for sale' as such, it's a trade product. As I said above you need to find a business with a Wurth account. First place I would try would be an accident repair company.

Thanks but that price is daylight robbery.

Interesting thread this as I now own cragmaz's old 855. The bumpers have been painted with 'something' that looks utterly £££££e now, you can even see the brush strokes. Certainly isn't Wurth Plastic dye on there.
