    Thinking of a Volvo V70 D5 AWD......

What is there to look for on these as well as what has been said earlier about D5's.

I am hoping that the old V70R AWD angle gear in the gearbox has been sorted as I have heard of horror stories, but can any of you guys give me some pointers. I need it to be 4wd, don't want an Audi, has to be an Estate, may even look at an XC70 or XC90.....I want the sensible reliable choice...

    Thanks in advance.

    Matt,

V70 D5 AWD is about as rare as a LHD white 850 T5 in the UK and I have only seen 1 of those!!! Happy hunting.

    Regards,
    Hamish.

    Hamish,

Currently 11 on autotrader, anything major I should look for? Did they resolve the angle gear on the gearbox? I don't want big bills.....

Will the gearbox get dangerously stressed if it is RICA'd to the max?

    Regards

    Matt

Can't see the "getting" being an issue... it's the maintaining (as per previous post) that will stuff you.

The XC70 has a slightly smaller load area! no one mentions this!

The XC90 is a bit of a soccer mom's car!

Nice, but very kensington school run!

You think I know **** nothing! But let me tell you I know **** all!
