    Hot Seat!!

Any one experienced a seat heater element getting too hot and burning a hole?!!

My drivers seat bottom pad has been getting increasingly hotter over the last week until yesterday when it burnt a hole through the alcantara trim on the right side! Is this a common fault? Any ideas as to what would have caused it? I can only think of either a dodgy thermostat (or controller, not sure what the '99 V70 has) or a failed element.

As i like a nice warm bum in the winter I want to fix asap. Is the element seperate from the cusion or do I need the whole thing? which leads to the next question... has anyone got one?!!

    Thanks all

    Ps Happy new year eveyone!

PPs.... should have put this in V70 forum... how do I move it? D'oh!!

It was a classic recall on the 850s. Some cars have caught fire IIRC.

As Dave has said their was a recall for this on the 850's not sure if there is one for the V70's though, may be worth speaking to Volvo about it.

I've moved your thread to the correct section too.
