We've probably all driven our cars/bikes in a pretty poor way at some point in the past - I know I have - and I'm not big headed enough to say I'll never do it again. I try very hard to drive responsibly, even when stealing a mile or two , but I am way far off being a perfect driver.
Many years of driving all kinds of vehicles in all kinds of conditions over hundreds of thousands of miles, coupled with instruction from top notch instructors (Police and racing) has moulded and tempered my driving 'style'.
Despite that, the passage of time has probably done me the most favours. I am no longer as immortal as I used to be, hopefully you will arrive safely at that point in your life too.
Sometimes I do question why I bother with a 'high performance' car when, as you correctly state, you can't legitimately use most of that on the road. My personal answer is that I enjoy the challenges of maintaining and tuning/improving vehicles. Always have. I'm just as happy in the garage as spinning sideways through someones garden
Don't take everyones comments too personally, but try to take the general message on board.
And one last thing. Loose lips sink ships, least said soonest mended, etc etc.
Sometimes it's best to say nowt

how could another driver have provoked you into a street race? - YOU are entirely responsible for your actions behind the wheel.. I probably sound like I'm preaching but I'm just a little surprised.. by your first post and your subsequent follow up posts.. you need to have a think about either how you drive or what you post (but preferably both) before something more serious happens like you are invovled in an accident/cause another one with a little more drastic outcome or the police stumble across your posts - and personally speaking I hope neither happen as I hope you realise yourself how bad this could have turned out..

i think playing is the word, and as i said i took it easy round all the twisty stuff,(he didn't) if it was racing i would of gone for it, which i didn't. i'm going to give up here, thought some people may of been interested in a comparison between the 2 famous oldschool Swedish bricks, and how HE was stupid enuff to ruin his new year. Hope you enjoy coking up your cars. no wonder alot of you have problems with blocked up pcv systems!!
i respect all of your opinions, and do understand them, but the way i see it is i drove well within my capabilities down a dead road, he didn't. and thats the difference.
