    Volvo headunit info

    Before I go buying something which doesnt fit from e-bay , can someone tell me which volvo headunits will "plug and Play" on a 1998 C70 T5 with the amplified speaker system installed.

    All the 850,V,S,C70 Radio's should fit AFAIK. The only ones that won't are the ones with the shaped facia.

    The SC-901 has no amplifier built in therefore you get the one in the boot (or under the chair) the others are all pre-amped and therefore prob wont be plug and play.

    I will have an SC-901 up for grabs soon (once I get my arse in gear and swap over the headunits that is)

    Didn't the 850R have a small amp behind the dash? That had a tape deck and boot changer i think. I would have thought you'd go either straight from the head unit to the cars plugs,or to an amp first then the car. Either way i think if you've got the right Volvo leads it's plug and play.

    EDIT: I'll soon let you know as i've just bought an amp and leads from E Bay. It'll either work or end up in the for sale section
