    V70 rear lights

i want to put V70 rear lights on the rear of my car as some people have done.
is it just the top half that people change

is it just the outer coloured lens i change or do i need the bulb holder bit to?

hi, I changed mine to v70's, just the top half, the bulb holder in my 850 were slightly different from the V70 ones, so,if you can get the upper V70 lights get the bulb holders too.

the only problem you risk running with just buying the top sections is the difference in colour one set might be a little more faded than your bottom ones the best thing to do is buy the full set

IIRC they are held on by 3 x 10mm nuts

They have to be long reach as well

I changed the rears on pault5estates, easy job, just be careful you dont drop the bolts.

A magnetic t bar with a socket end would be ideal

    Cheers

someone's probably lacquered them in the past and it's now peeling.. a good tip for anyone with dull lenses is to polish them up with Autosol (metal polish) and a machine polisher/drill with buffing wheel/dremel etc.. comes up a treat..

EDIT: I found a video of someone using this method! lol!:

I wouldn't bother replacing the bottom ones unless they've gone 'Fogy', I've never seen a difference in colour on rear lights before. When I did mine I just changed the top ones.

You wouldnt notice the diffrence between your old ones untill you put a new one beside it i bet thats if you buy new ones, a bit like a car thats had a bad respray you can see the diffrence straight away when the pannels are side by side.
    Thanks

very true also with age meterials do get tarnished/faded/dull etc so when fitting something newer there is a chance of the apperance being different yours may not look dull but remember you see your cars lights all the time its only till you put a newer set besides it and then you can see the difference dont get me wrong yours could well be in very good condition and will match up to a newer set but imho i would rather get a full set which i did before fitting the ones i have on now
